What is Trainz Railroad Simulator 2022 (TRS22)?
- TRS22 is the successor to TRS19.
- It includes five brand new routes and a range of new locos and passenger cars (free to download and install from the in-game Content Store module).
- It also includes a number of new features previously available exclusively in our Trainz Plus version including UDS, MPS and Effect Layer tools.
- TRS22 is available for purchase from the Trainz store, or is included as part of our Trainz Plus and Gold Class Membership options.
- TRS22 is compatible with the majority of content from older versions of Trainz including Trainz: A New Era and TRS19 routes and DLC content.
What is the TRS22 Release Schedule?
- Pre-orders begin Dec 1, 2021
- TRS22 Beta Edition is available now for all Trainz Plus and Gold Class members.
- TRS22 Beta Edition will also be available for anyone pre-ordering TRS22 from the Trainz Store prior to January 15, 2022.
- TRS22 Early Access Edition will be available early 2022.
- You can, of course, pre-order then wait to install the Early Access or Official Release versions.
- Pre-orders will continue right up to the official release, which is currently expected Q1, 2022.
What are TRS22 Hardware Requirements?

Are there TRS22 Regional Editions available?
- Pre-orders are available for the TRS22 full edition only.
- We are planning to introduce a number of Regional Editions when the full product is released in 2022.
- These Regional Editions will include the same core game and features, but a limited content set specific to the region.
How do I access the five additional TRS22 Routes?
- To keep the initial download small, the base install includes Kickstarter County 2 plus a range of sessions and tutorials.
- The five additional builtin routes are available in-game for free download.
- Simply ensure you have your MyTrainz username entered and open Content Store > Purchased Tab.
- This will list all the DLC content that is available for you to download and install in this version of Trainz.

What is Trainz Plus?
- Trainz PLUS is the build that keeps you up-to-date with new and in-development features before they make it into future retail versions of Trainz.
- You can access the latest Trainz Plus build through either the Trainz PLUS or Gold Class Memberships.
- Members can opt in to the Beta release version, and help us ensure the new features and build are working as expected.
- Alternatively, you can opt to wait until the more stable, official release version becomes available.

What is Trainz Plus Membership?
- Trainz PLUS membership provides access to the latest Trainz Plus build, and includes an ongoing First Class Ticket.
- You also receive the full TRS19 and TRS22 built-in content sets.
- You can cancel your membership at any time and access to your Trainz builds (and other benefits) will end at the expiration of that billing period.
What is a Silver Class Membership?
- Silver Class is a cost effective alternative to buying individual DLC items from the Trainz Store.
- For a low monthly fee, you get access to the “Content Vault”, plus an ongoing FCT and a 10% store discount.
- Content Vault provides access to the full catalogue of Trainz DLC items
- Silver Class requires ownership of either TANE, TRS19 or TRS22.
- Certain DLC is only compatible with certain products.
- You can cancel your membership at any time and access to items in your Content Vault (and other benefits) will end at the expiration of that billing period.

What is a Gold Class Membership?
- Includes all the benefits of the Silver Class membership plus immediate access to Trainz A New Era, TRS19 and TRS22, and, of course, Trainz Plus.

What is the FREE DLC reward?
- All owners of TRS19 or TRS22 can now download ALL DLC item from the TRS19 or TRS22 in-game “Content Store” for FREE, and try before you buy until Jan 15, 2022.
- Simply log in to MyTrainz to claim your DLC Reward, then log in to TRS19 or TRS22 to download, install and enjoy the content.

To retain access to your DLC items, on or before Jan 15, you can choose to either
- Purchase any DLC item(s) at 75% off from the Trainz Store, or
- Join either Silver Class or Gold Class membership to continue accessing all DLC content for as long as you remain a member.
- If you choose not to purchase the DLC or join as a member, any installed DLC will show in-game as “Payware Not Active” and you will no longer have access to that content.
- If you are already a Silver of Gold Class member, then you already have access to this DLC content. Log in to MyTrainz > My Memberships and select "Content Vault".
What is the KEEP TRS22 FOREVER Reward?

Join either Trainz Plus or Gold Class annual membership between Dec 1 2021 and Jan 15, 2022, or update your existing membership to annual, and enjoy all the TRS22 content and Trainz Plus features during your membership period.
Existing annual members, simply renew your annual membership between Dec 1 2021 and Dec 1 2022 to qualify. - Your membership also includes a First Class Ticket and other benefits.
- The latest Trainz Plus build includes Surveyor 2.0 (S20) Beta and development will continue as we develop new tools and functionality.
- You also get access to ongoing free updates with all the latest new features that are released on a regular basis.
- On December 1, 2022, we will issue TRS22 to your MyTrainz account so you’ll have access to TRS22 forever, whether you remain a member or not.
- Simply log in to MyTrainz > My Memberships to create or update your membership.
Can I pre-order TRS22 and change to Trainz Plus later?
- No. If you choose to purchase the game, then you would need to pay again to join any of the membership options.
- If you join our Trainz Plus membership, you’re paying the same amount as you would to purchase TRS22. You are then also getting access to all the Trainz Plus benefits for the duration of your membership, and you get to keep TRS22 after your membership expires.
What happens if I’m already a member?
- If you are already a Trainz Plus or Gold Class annual member, then you need to simply renew your annual membership on or before December 1, 2022 to get the TRS22 reward.
- If your membership is not renewed when it falls due during the year, then you will lose your membership benefits until you renew. (So you would lose access to TRS22, Trainz Plus etc).
- If you are already a Trainz Plus or Gold Class monthly member, then you need to upgrade your membership to an annual membership before January 15, 2021.
- Log in to MyTrainz and choose the annual membership option. You will receive a credit on any unused monthly membership.
- If you are already a Silver Class member then you will need to change to a Trainz Plus or Gold Class annual membership to take part in this offer.
What happens if I cancel my membership?
- If you cancel your membership, you lose access to the various membership benefits at the end of your expiry period.
- If you are eligible for the KEEP TRS22 FOREVER reward, you will of course retain TRS22 after your membership expires.
- To be eligible you must have an active membership
- Since S20 is a Trainz Plus feature, you will lose access to that feature.
- A Trainz product that includes S20 will be available for purchase in the future.
