Beloreck - South Ural Mountains

A faithful representation of the railways of Central Eurasia and the Ural Mountain range.

With the assistance of Google maps, the relief and profile of the railway have been carefully studied. The route includes custom made models of local stations and structures and all other objects on the route have been painstakingly curated. Ground textures and vegetation make superb use of the latest Trainz support.

The South Ural Railway is the initial link of Trans-Siberian Railway - the longest railway in the world. Starting at Magnitogorsk and heading north west via Beloreck to Inzer, train working is subject to a stiff ruling grade of 1.8% or roughly 1 in 55 with curves as tight as 300m in radius.

The total length of the map is more than 250km, winding amongst the picturesque mountain areas of the Ural Reserve, located in the central highlands of the Southern Urals. The tallest peak in the region is Mount Yamantau, at a height of 1639m.
